An SDA file extension is associated with a StarOffice drawing file, a vector drawing file created in the Draw program application created by OpenOffice.org and Oracle's Open Office. Files of this type contain vector objects, and are used to represent drawings, flow and organizational charts, diagrams, and other drawing types. SDA files also are capable of supporting raster graphics. The SDA file extension is an older format, used with the StarOffice suite through version 5.0. When StarOffice 6.0 was released, Draw files became SXD format files. Since that time, both OpenOffice.org and Oracle's Open Office have both converted to the file extension ODG for drawing files. There are six other files that use the SDA file extension. Users who are having trouble opening these files should verify that the application suits the file type.
